Dance into summer 2026 with Eastern Connecticut Ballet’s Summer Programs for ages 3 ½ through adult. The school for ballet training offers many different programs at its East Lyme studio in July and August with options of participating in a single or multi-week program.

The Petite Dancer Workshop is designed to bridge the gap between the young children’s program and the ballet program. Dancers will dance to beloved ballet music, and make creative crafts based on classical masterpieces and Broadway favorites.
Junior and Senior Summer Offerings
Students 8+ are invited to participate in any applicable programs. Students will study with master teachers and gain exposure to other forms of dance and conditioning. Senior programs require a minimum of one year on pointe.

Intermediate students will build technique and artistry through a full day program that explores different genres of dance. In addition to ballet, students may experience classes in character, jazz, conditioning and choreography. Each week is specially themed to keep students engaged and make the summer work fun.

This half day workshop will be led by Artistic Director Gloria Govrin and Executive Director Ashley Bouder, in addition to leading faculty members Jeremy Cox and Marc Spielberger. Students will get master classes in the Balanchine style by those who either trained directly with George Balanchine, or those that were specifically trained in his style. Classes in technique, pointe, and/or variations will happen daily. Minimum of one year on pointe required. There will also be an opportunity to request private lessons.

Intermediate/Advanced and Advanced students will have the opportunity to train with Ashley Bouder and guest faculty. Week one will include guests Rachael Nye and Barry Kerollis. Week two includes guests Allison DeBona and Mary Ann Lamb. Students will develop a stronger ballet and pointe technique, learn ballet variations, and explore contemporary, jazz and musical theater dance, in addition to conditioning lessons. A minimum of one year on pointe is required and each student will be placed according to ability. Several seminars, meet the teacher Q&A’s, and special topics will be offered.
